Do you want you car fixed by just anyone, or by a "precision mechanic"? Do you want your car designed by someone who is just doing what his dad taught him 30 years ago, or by someone keeping up with the latest education and trends and employing "precision engineering"? While the subject is certainly not as complex, shouldn't you expect the same when you learn kayaking skills?

Big Ds Kayaking uses instructors who have decades of experience as trainers teaching people and animals to do things. We are mighty good kayakers, and yet, we are better trainers than we are paddlers. Every time a course is presented, it is debriefed and we seek ways to improve it - after every class. We also continue to work with the best trainers in our industry to contimue to improve. All of this is built upon years and years of training experience.

We focus on what works. You should expect minimal words, lots of doing, and tremendous feedback to enhance your skills.

Courses are conducted throughout Florida, mostly in west central Florida. We have ideal locations for learning kayaking. Warm waters and plentiful sunshine, allow us to offer instruction year-round in a unique subtropical environment

All seven instructors are certified by either the American Canoe Association or the British Canoe Union or both. Yet, most courses are taught by Big D and Lady D themselves.
